Face-off Clinic Series 2007/2008

Camp Philosophy - Coach Cantabene's mission is to provide intensive, small group instruction while stressing
the fundamentals of the game.  Players will improve their current techniques and learn new ones.  Players should leave the
camp with a new appreciation for the game and the importance of knowing old school fundamentals.
 
 
Camp Fees - Any one session $150 - Any two sessions $275 and any three session for $350. You also can attend all six clinics for $600.  Fee includes a reversible, Under Armour water bottle and
loads of raffle prizes.  A $100 nonrefundable deposit is due one week prior to the start of the camp you wish to attend
with the remainder due by the start of camp.  If it is less then a month before the camp you desire to attend, please call
for availability.  Confirmation of enrollment are e-mailed weekly. 
 

Camp Details -

  • Each camper must be a current US Lacrosse player member during camp.
  • Space is limited to ensure a high counselor to camper ratio.
  • Each camper is required to bring their own equipment - helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, arm guards, mouth piece                            and stick.  Goalies must also bring a chest protector and cup.
  • Participants must be 10-18 years old.
  • An athletic trainer will be in attendance.
  • In the event of inclement weather, camp will be held on the turf and in the indoor bubble.  Please bring appropriate footwear.
  • Snack Bar available after camp.

8:00 – Stretch
8:10 – Teaching – 40 minutes

  • Groundballs out of stance
  • Dummy verse live – Stance Work / Proper technique
  • Butt to butt
  • Up the river down the river face-offs
  • 8:50 – 15 minutes on live Face-offs
    9:05 – Water
    9:10 – Teaching 50 minutes
  • Clamp - quick / power
  • Push and pop
  • Laser / Rake / Plunger
  • Top / Dive Bomb
  • 10:00 – Group Challenge
    10:15 – Water
    10:25 – Teaching 25 minutes
  • Study / Counters
  • Goosing / Whistle ready
  • Boxing Out / If all else fails
  • Communication / Signals
  • Thinking of the game
  • 10:50 – 20 minutes of live Face-offs
    11:10 – Water
    11:20 – Break in to skill Groups
    11:40 – Beat the Pro – Championships/ Challenge the Pro
